About

What we Do

The Murrysville Area Watershed Association (MAWA) is passionately committed to six key goals aimed at preserving and enhancing the ecological health of the Murrysville area, encompassing the Pucketa Creek, Haymakers Run, Steels Run, Turtle Creek, and Lyons Run watersheds. Through continuous water quality monitoring, collaborative efforts with property owners, and strategic programs to establish riparian buffers, MAWA mitigates environmental impact and promotes informed community engagement. Investing in active and passive acid mine remediation facilities, the organization significantly contributes to the improvement of water quality in the Murrysville Area Watersheds. Simultaneously, MAWA works to promote trail connectivity and preserve historically significant sites, embodying a comprehensive approach to safeguarding the precious water resources of the region.

Board of Directors
